ReelTeller is organised around what you actually play. Each guide takes one game, one category or one studio and explains the maths behind it, what British rules changed about it, and which casinos not on GamStop still offer it in its original form.
Here is why that matters. A slot at a UK-licensed site runs under Gambling Commission rules that switched off autoplay, set a minimum spin time and, since 2025, hold online slot stakes to £5 a spin (£2 if you are 18 to 24). An offshore lobby runs the studio's own settings, so a title you know well can feel like a different game.
The casinos listed below are compared on licence, studios, coins and published bonus terms. The full method sits on our how we rate page.

What counts as a casino not on GamStop
GamStop is Britain's free self-exclusion service. Every operator licensed by the UK Gambling Commission must check customers against its register, so a single sign-up locks you out of every UK-licensed brand for the period you pick.
A casino not on GamStop holds its licence somewhere else, usually Anjouan or Curaçao, and has no link to that register. "Non GamStop games" just means the titles those casinos run, and they come from the same studios you already know from British sites.
If you joined GamStop because gambling had become a problem for you, keep the exclusion in place; GamCare gives free, confidential support on 0808 8020 133.
The rest of this page covers the gap between the two markets: which settings belong to the studio, which belong to the regulator, and what an offshore operator is free to turn back on.
The UK rules an offshore lobby does not follow
The Gambling Commission's slot rules came in stages. In 2021 it changed how online slots are allowed to run, and in 2025 it added a stake limit. None of it touched the RTP of a game. What changed was pace, control and how much can ride on one spin.
A stake limit on online slots
A UK-licensed site cannot take more than £5 a spin on an online slot from anyone aged 25 or older, or more than £2 from someone aged 18 to 24. The cap covers slots only, so roulette, live dealer games and instant wins sit outside it. Offshore, the ceiling is whatever the studio and the casino choose, and on popular titles it is often far above £5.
Feature buys
A feature buy (also sold as a bonus buy) lets you pay a set price, usually somewhere between 75 and 100 times your stake, to jump straight into the bonus round. UK-licensed sites do not offer it. Offshore lobbies keep it on any title where the studio built one.
Autoplay and turbo
On a British slot every spin needs its own press, and quick-spin modes are banned. Offshore versions generally keep both.
Spin speed
Each UK slot spin must last at least 2.5 seconds, and slam stops (tapping to halt the reels early) are not permitted. Outside the UK the game runs at the speed its designers intended.
Cancelling a withdrawal
UK operators are no longer allowed to let you reverse a pending cash out back into your balance. Many offshore cashiers still allow it. It is convenient, and it is also the setting most likely to turn a win back into a stake, so decide whether you want that option at all.
Game categories and how each one changes offshore
Offshore lobbies are sorted into the same sections as British ones. The differences show up inside each category once UK configuration rules stop applying. Every category below has its own guide.
Slots
This is where the two markets drift furthest apart. The UK caps the stake per spin and removes the feature buy, and an offshore lobby usually does neither. That freedom works both ways, because nothing slows the pace of play either. Slots not on GamStop
Look at volatility before you look at RTP. Two slots that both return 96% can behave in opposite ways: one pays small amounts on lots of spins, the other goes quiet for long stretches and then pays in bursts. Without a stake cap, the bursty kind is the one that drains a balance fastest.
Megaways
Megaways is a reel engine licensed from Big Time Gaming. Each reel shows a different number of symbols on every spin, which gives up to 117,649 ways to land a win. The format is volatile by design, so the UK stake ceiling never made it safer, only slower. Megaways slots not on GamStop
More than a hundred titles now run on the engine. Bonanza and Extra Chilli, the early Big Time Gaming releases, are still the benchmark, and plenty of later games borrow the reel layout without matching the maths.
Live casino
Offshore live tables are often streamed from the same studios a UK casino uses, with the same dealers and cameras. The table limit is what differs, and it can be much higher offshore. Live casino not on GamStop
Check which studios supply the lobby before you pick a table. Evolution, Pragmatic Live and Playtech are the names you want. Unfamiliar studio names often mean a white-label feed with only a few tables open late at night.
Roulette
Roulette shows the limit gap more plainly than any other game. Lightning Roulette adds random multipliers of up to 500×, French Roulette with the la partage rule brings the edge on even-money bets down to about 1.35%, and Auto Roulette spins without a dealer for a quicker cycle. Roulette not on GamStop
Check the wheel. A single-zero European or French wheel carries a 2.7% house edge, while the American double-zero wheel carries 5.26%, close to double, on a table that looks the same.
Blackjack
With basic strategy on good rules, blackjack has the smallest house edge in the building, roughly 0.5%. The rule set moves that number more than your choice of casino does. Blackjack not on GamStop
The first rule to read is what a natural pays. At 3:2 you are on standard terms. At 6:5 the edge on that same table is around three times higher. It is printed on the felt or in the table info, and most players never check.
Slingo
Slingo is a British invention: a single row of reels feeding numbers onto a 5×5 bingo card. Published returns spread wider than on slots, from roughly 92% to 96%, and buying extra spins at the end of a round shifts the real figure a lot. Slingo not on GamStop
Scratch cards
Digital scratch cards pay from a fixed prize table published in full, so they are among the easiest products in a lobby to understand. Returns usually sit below slots, often 90% to 96%, and many bonus terms exclude them. Scratch cards not on GamStop
Crash games and provably fair Originals
Crash, dice, mines, limbo and plinko are usually built in house by the casino. The good ones are provably fair: each result comes from a server seed (hashed and shown to you before you bet) combined with a seed you set, so once the round ends you can confirm the outcome was fixed in advance. Maxxed runs 15+ Originals of this kind, and Stake, BC.Game, Roobet, Rainbet and Gamdom each have their own line.
Slot titles British players look for offshore
These are the slots UK players most often search for by name alongside "not on GamStop". Each has a dedicated guide covering its maths, the RTP versions the studio supplies and where you can find it.
The pattern repeats across the whole list. Artwork and features stay put. An offshore copy differs in three places: how much you can stake, whether the feature buy is on, and which RTP version was installed.
| Slot | Studio | Advertised RTP | Volatility | Top win |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Book of Dead | Play'n GO | 96.21% | High | 5,000× |
| Fishin' Frenzy | Blueprint Gaming | 96.12% | Medium-high | 5,000× |
| Big Bass Bonanza | Pragmatic Play | 96.71% | High | 2,100× |
| Eye of Horus | Merkur / Blueprint | 96.31% | High | 5,000× |
| Fluffy Favourites | Eyecon | 95.39% | Medium | 5,000× |
| Starburst | NetEnt | 96.09% | Low | 500× |
| Big Bass Splash | Pragmatic Play | 96.71% | High | 5,000× |
| Rainbow Riches | Barcrest | 95.00% | Medium | 500× |
Read the rules screen first. Every title in this table has an info or paytable page, and the RTP printed there belongs to the version that casino has installed. It is the quickest honest check available to you. Reading a slot's RTP
Studios that decide whether a lobby is any good
A casino's supplier list says more than its headline game count. These five cover most of what UK players search for, and if they are missing, ask why.
Pragmatic Play
Pragmatic releases more slots than anyone, and its feature buy is the one UK players miss most. Its biggest families are Sweet Bonanza, Big Bass and Gates of Olympus. Many titles exist in more than one RTP version (the usual trio is 96.5%, 95.5% or 94.5%), so checking pays. Pragmatic Play not on GamStop
NetEnt
NetEnt is Swedish. It made Starburst, the slot casinos hand out as free spins more than any other, and Gonzo's Quest, where cascading reels began. Evolution owns it, so a casino with Evolution live tables very often has NetEnt slots too. NetEnt not on GamStop
Blueprint Gaming
Blueprint works out of Newark and builds largely for British tastes, which is why its games crowd UK search results. Fishin' Frenzy and Eye of Horus are its headline slots, and because it licenses Megaways, some titles exist in two versions. Blueprint Gaming not on GamStop
Evolution Gaming
Evolution supplies more live dealer tables than any other company, and its presence usually separates a strong live lobby from a weak one. The licence costs a lot, so some casinos label a section "live casino" and fill it with smaller studios. Look for Crazy Time, Lightning Roulette or Monopoly Big Baller by name. Evolution Gaming not on GamStop
Play'n GO, Nolimit City and Hacksaw
Play'n GO made Book of Dead, the expanding-symbol slot that UK players kept returning to for years. Nolimit City and Hacksaw Gaming build for very high volatility, with top wins well beyond the classic 5,000× ceiling. All three are common in offshore lobbies.
RTP and the version the casino picks
Return to player is the share of all money staked that a game pays back over its full cycle, which runs to millions of spins. A 96% slot returns £96 per £100 wagered across that cycle. Your own session can land well above or well below it.
The detail most players miss is that one slot can exist in several RTP versions, and the casino decides which to install. Studios including NetEnt, Red Tiger, Play'n GO and Pragmatic Play supply alternative versions of their best-known games. A common set is 96.5%, 95.5% or 94.5%, and some go lower.
British sites have to show the RTP for every game. Offshore there is no equivalent rule. Plenty of offshore casinos run the default version, but you cannot take that for granted, so the checking falls to you.
It takes a few seconds. Load the game, tap the info or paytable button and scroll to the end of the rules. The percentage there describes the version on your screen. The full RTP guide covers it step by step, and the RTP cost calculator turns the percentage into pounds.
What two points of RTP cost. Take 1,000 spins at £1. At 97% the expected cost is £30. At 95% it is £50. Same title, same reels, same casino: the only change is which version was installed.
Non GamStop, non UK, non GamCare, non GamBlock: what each label means
Affiliate sites swap these phrases around freely. They describe different things, and two of them were never a block to begin with.
| Label | Meaning | Does it stop you playing? |
|---|---|---|
| Non GamStop | The casino does not check the UK self-exclusion register | No |
| Non UK | The casino has no UK Gambling Commission licence; the widest of the four labels | No |
| Non GamCare | No link to GamCare, a support charity that has never had the power to close accounts | No, and GamCare never could |
| Non GamBlock | Not filtered by GamBlock, software you install yourself on a phone or computer | Only if you have installed it |
Offshore licences you are likely to meet
Check the regulator before anything else, because most lists skip it. A seal in a footer can be copied. A licence number on the regulator's own public register cannot.
| Licence | Reputation | If something goes wrong | Casinos on our list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anjouan (ALSI) | A younger regulator issuing more licences each year | Limited; complaints usually start and end with the operator | Maxxed, Gamdom |
| Curaçao (CGA) | The most widely used offshore licence, reformed in 2024 with a dispute resolution step | Moderate | Stake, BC.Game, Cloudbet, Betpanda, BitStarz, Roobet, Rainbet |
| Costa Rica | A business registration rather than a gambling licence in the usual sense | Close to none | None; be cautious unless the brand has a long record |
How safe are casinos not on GamStop?
Less safe than a UK-licensed casino, and a page that tells you otherwise is selling something. Here is what you gain, what you lose and how to narrow the gap.
What you get
Slot stakes set by the studio rather than a regulator. Feature buys. Autoplay and quick spin. Higher limits at live tables. Crypto payments, which skip bank processing days once the casino has approved a withdrawal. Identity checks that are often triggered by risk or withdrawal size rather than demanded from everyone up front, although any offshore casino can ask for documents at any time.
What you lose
Supervision by the Gambling Commission. Access to Britain's complaints system and its independent adjudicators. Built-in affordability checks and deposit prompts. UK rules on how player money is held. If an offshore casino refuses to pay, you are left with that regulator's complaint process, which is slower and weaker than Britain's, plus whatever public pressure you can bring.
Ways to cut the risk
Favour operators with several years of trading behind them. Look up the licence number on the regulator's register. Send identity documents when you sign up instead of waiting for a withdrawal to prompt the request. Keep your balance modest and cash out often. Read the bonus rules before you opt in.
Why these casinos stay out of the UK licensing system
The business reason tells you a lot about who you are dealing with.
A UK licence brings affordability checks, compulsory GamStop membership, the slot stake limit, a ban on feature buys, tight advertising rules and a duty on gross gambling yield. For a crypto casino whose product depends on high limits and full-feature slots, meeting all of that would strip out most of what it sells.
So these operators license in Anjouan or Curaçao instead, where the rules are lighter and the fees far smaller. They accept British players who arrive on their own but are not licensed to market to them in the UK. That is the grey zone the whole category occupies: playing is not illegal for you, and the casino has no permission to advertise to you.
The upshot is that they compete on exactly what the UK took away: stake freedom, feature buys, crypto banking and wider payment choice.
UK-licensed casino or casino not on GamStop: side by side
The trade is easier to judge as a list of specific differences.
| UK Gambling Commission licence | Offshore, not on GamStop | |
|---|---|---|
| Stake limit on slots | £5 a spin at 25+, £2 at 18 to 24 | Set by the studio and casino |
| Feature buy | Not offered | Offered where the studio built one |
| Autoplay and quick spin | Banned | Usually available |
| Shortest spin | 2.5 seconds | Whatever the studio designed |
| RTP on display | Required for every game | Optional, so check the rules screen |
| Identity checks | Required before you can gamble | Risk-based, can be requested at any stage |
| Crypto | Not accepted | Accepted, often the main method |
| Withdrawals | Bank and card timescales | Coins sent once the casino approves; network times vary |
| GamStop | Applies | Does not apply |
| Disputes | UKGC and an approved ADR body | The offshore regulator only |
| Deposit limits | Compulsory prompts | Optional tools where offered |
Payment methods and what controls the wait
How soon money reaches you depends on two things: how long the casino takes to approve the request, and how fast the payment rail moves once it is sent. We do not publish withdrawal times, because they vary from one request to the next. This is how each method works in general.
| Method | Deposits | Withdrawals | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Litecoin, USDT, Solana | Yes | Yes | Low network fees and quick confirmations once the casino releases the payment. With USDT, pick the network the cashier names. |
| Bitcoin | Yes | Yes | Fees and confirmation times climb when the network is busy. |
| Ethereum | Yes | Yes | Gas fees vary, so moving USDT on Ethereum can cost more than on cheaper networks. |
| Debit and credit cards | At a few casinos | Rarely; check the cashier | BitStarz is the casino on our list that takes cards. Some UK banks block payments to gambling merchants. |
| Paysafecard | At some casinos | No | A prepaid voucher, so there is nothing to cash out to. |
PayPal is not on offer. PayPal works only with casinos licensed in regulated markets, so a site outside the UK system that advertises it deserves real suspicion.
Three bonus terms, plus one people forget
Offshore offers show bigger numbers than UK ones because no rule caps the headline. A "360% match" is a ceiling spread over several deposits, not money sitting in your account. Whether you ever withdraw any of it comes down to these terms.
Wagering
Most matches ask you to stake the bonus 35 to 45 times before it turns into cash, and anything under 30 times counts as good. Find out whether the multiple is counted on the bonus only or on your deposit and bonus combined, because the combined version doubles the work.
Maximum stake while a bonus is active
Often around £5 a spin. Go over it once and the casino can void the bonus and its winnings. It causes more refused withdrawals than any other term, and on a site with no stake cap it is easy to break without noticing.
Cashout cap
Free spin and no deposit offers usually limit what you can withdraw from them, commonly to 5 to 10 times the bonus value, however much the spins actually won.
Contribution by game
Slots usually count in full towards wagering. Table games may count at 10% and live dealer games at nothing, so clearing a slot bonus on blackjack can leave you exactly where you started. How wagering works
Offshore promotions, ranked by what they tend to be worth
Offshore casinos use more promotion formats than the standard UK welcome match. These are the ones you will meet most, starting with the formats that usually give a regular player the most back.
Rakeback
A slice of the house edge returned on everything you stake, normally as withdrawable cash. Next to a 300% headline it looks small, but there is nothing to clear and no rule to trip over. Stake, Roobet and Gamdom put rakeback at the centre of their offers.
Wager-free welcome packs and cashback
Value without a playthrough is worth more than a bigger number with one. Maxxed lets new players pick 1 of 3 welcome packs (free spins, a free bet or cashback) with no wagering, valid for 7 days. Betpanda advertised 10% weekly cashback in August 2026; check whether wagering applies before you count on it. Cashback that carries a 40× playthrough is a bonus under another name.
Deposit match
A percentage of your deposit added as bonus funds, often split over the first two to four deposits. BC.Game advertises up to 360% across its first deposits, with wagering attached. The percentage is the maximum, the wagering is the price, and the stake cap is where most people slip.
Free spins
Normally attached to a match and locked to one slot, often a low-volatility title such as Starburst because the casino can predict what it will cost. Check the value per spin and any cap on winnings.
No deposit offers
Small, tightly restricted and capped at withdrawal. They let you look around a lobby; they are not a way to make money.
Reload bonuses
Smaller matches on later deposits. If you deposit often, they add up to more over a year than any single welcome offer.
High roller offers
Bigger matches with bigger minimum deposits. The wagering multiple tends to stay the same, so the total you must stake grows with the bonus.
Crypto deposit bonuses
An extra percentage for paying in coin instead of by card, funded by what the casino saves on card processing.
From sign-up to first cash out
Opening an offshore account is quicker than opening a UK one. Two of the steps below decide whether your first withdrawal goes smoothly or stalls.
- Create the account. Most crypto casinos start with just an email address and a password.
- Upload your documents before you deposit. Offshore casinos can ask for ID and proof of address at any time, and they usually do once a withdrawal is pending. Getting them approved early removes the most common reason a payout is held.
- Set limits on day one. Many offshore casinos offer deposit limits, reminders and self-exclusion even though nobody requires it. Nobody will nudge you to use them either, so set them before your first bet. The bankroll simulator helps you choose a figure.
- Fund the account. If you already hold crypto, choose a coin with low fees and confirm the network before you send. Note the minimum deposit shown in the cashier.
- Decide on the bonus first. Opting in ties your balance to the bonus rules until wagering is done, while declining leaves you free to withdraw whenever you like. Either is fine, but changing your mind later is harder than choosing now.
- Try a small withdrawal early. The first time you are in profit, request a modest amount and see how the cashier deals with it. That tells you more about the casino than any review can.
- Cash out as you go. Money left in an offshore account depends on that operator staying solvent and honest. Withdrawing regularly is the simplest protection you have.
Picking a casino for the games you play
Choose by game first and bonus second. You are more likely to end up somewhere you want to stay.
- Name your game. Volatile slots, live roulette, blackjack and football each point to a different casino on our list. A lobby with thousands of slots does nothing for a table player.
- Read the studio list. If you play Pragmatic or Nolimit City, confirm those studios are actually in the lobby. Game totals are padded with filler.
- Load a demo and open its rules. Many casinos let you try a game before depositing, and the RTP shown is the version that casino runs.
- Look up the licence on the regulator's register rather than trusting the footer.
- Find the stake cap in the bonus terms before you opt in, because without a UK limit it is very easy to exceed.
- Start with a small cash out before you trust the casino with a larger balance.
How the casinos on this page are ranked
We rank on the checks below, and when two casinos are close, the one with the longer track record goes higher. The full method is on how we rate.
Maxxed, our first pick, is scored against the same criteria as everyone else.
- Licence and operator. Who runs the casino, which regulator issued its licence, and whether the number appears on that regulator's register.
- Published bonus terms. Wagering, stake caps, cashout caps and expiry, read from the casino's own rules.
- Game studios, weighted towards the suppliers UK players search for rather than raw totals.
- Payment options, including which coins and networks the cashier accepts.
- Player complaints on public forums and review sites, read for repeated patterns rather than one-off grievances.
- Responsible gambling tools such as deposit limits and self-exclusion, and how easy they are to find.
- Years trading. Longer is better, because operators that stop paying rarely last.
Our verdict
For one account that covers casino and sport, Maxxed is our first pick: 5,000+ games, 15+ provably fair Originals, a sportsbook on the same balance and a choice of three welcome packs with no wagering.
If you mostly play in-house Originals, Stake has the deepest line-up. Sports bettors should look at Cloudbet. Slot players who want a very large catalogue and the option of paying by card can try BitStarz, and anyone who moves money in stablecoins will find the widest choice of networks at BC.Game.
Whichever casino you pick, your habits protect you more than the pick does. Check the licence, get verified early, read the stake cap before taking a bonus, look up the RTP version in the rules screen, and do not leave a large balance sitting offshore.
Casino details on this page are rechecked against each operator's published terms, and every listing shows the date of its last check.
