One slot, two RTP versions, compared in pounds over the play you actually do. Casinos rarely show you which version they run.
Worked example. £1 a spin, 500 spins an hour for 10 hours is 5,000 spins and £5,000 staked.
| RTP version | Expected loss |
|---|---|
| 96.34% | −£183 |
| 92.17% | −£392 |
The lower version costs £209 more over the same play.
How this works
Expected loss is turnover multiplied by the house edge. Turnover is your stake times the number of spins, and the house edge is 100% minus the RTP. Two versions of the same slot differ only in that edge, so the gap between them grows with every spin.
The single figure is an average across a very large number of sessions. Your own session will land somewhere around it, often far from it, and the spread is wider on high-volatility games. The simulation underneath shows that spread rather than pretending the average is what happens.
RTP versions for the pre-filled games come from the studio's own game page, so they are exact. For any other slot, use the figures in the game's info screen at your casino, which is where the version actually running is stated.
Play with money you can afford to lose. Casino games are built to return less than is staked over time. Set a budget and use your account's deposit limits. Free, confidential support is available from GamCare on 0808 8020 133. More on staying in control.
