Le Bandit is the gentlest of Hacksaw's big three and the one where the RTP build shapes a long session most. It sits at 3 of 5 on the studio's volatility scale, pays in clusters on a 6×5 grid and can reach 10,000× your stake through three free spins rounds. Hacksaw lists four builds, 96.34% at the top and 88.36% at the bottom, so look in the info screen before you commit a balance.
What Le Bandit Is
Le Bandit not on GamStop is the same Hacksaw raccoon heist you may know from UK sites, with two things changed: the Buy Bonus menu can be back and there is no £5 limit on each spin. The cascades, Golden Squares and Rainbow coins work exactly as the studio built them.
The UK Build Against The Offshore One
UK-licensed casinos must hold slots to £5 a spin, or £2 for anyone aged 18 to 24, and cannot sell bonus buys, so their Le Bandit comes without the buy menu. Offshore copies can keep the menu and FeatureSpins, and the operator picks one of Hacksaw's four RTP builds without listing it in the lobby.
Hacksaw's own page for Le Bandit, checked on 19 October 2026, lists 96.34%, 94.23%, 92.17% and 88.36%. Because the studio publishes the full set, the number in the game's rules screen can be matched against a known list, which most studios do not make possible. Anything below the top figure means a higher house edge for an identical game. Where the RTP sits in a paytable.
How a Rainbow turns marked squares into coins
Every win on Le Bandit leaves a trace. The positions that formed it become Golden Squares, and Super Cascades then clear the winners plus any matching symbols elsewhere on the grid before fresh ones drop. A single spin can run through several cascades, marking more squares each time.
Those marks pay only when a Rainbow symbol lands during the same spin. When it does, each Golden Square flips into one of these:
- A Bronze coin worth 0.2× to 4× your stake.
- A Silver coin worth 5× to 20×.
- A Gold coin worth up to 500×.
- A Four-Leaf Clover, which multiplies the coins beside it by 2× to 10×.
- A Pot of Gold, which gathers every coin value on screen, along with other pots, working from top to bottom and left to right.
In the base game the marks clear after each spin, so the Rainbow has to arrive while a cascade chain is still building. Most spins end without one, and that is the normal rhythm of the game rather than a cold streak.
Three bonus rounds and what separates them
The number of FS scatter symbols you land decides which round you enter. Each step up changes how long the Golden Squares survive and how often they can be cashed.
| Scatters | Round | What changes | Can it be bought? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Luck of the Bandit | Golden Squares stay marked from one spin to the next | Yes, where the casino offers the buy menu |
| 4 | All That Glitters Is Gold | 12 spins, and marked squares can be cashed in more than once | Yes, where the casino offers the buy menu |
| 5 | Treasure at the End of the Rainbow | A Rainbow lands on every spin | No, base game trigger only |
The top round stays off the menu. Hacksaw does not sell Treasure at the End of the Rainbow at any casino, onshore or offshore. Paying gets you into the first two rounds only, so the round with a Rainbow on every spin still depends on five scatters landing naturally.
Le Bandit RTP: what each of the four builds costs
Hacksaw prints the four return settings side by side, which turns a vague worry into a sum you can do. Take a session of 2,000 spins at 50p, or £1,000 staked in total. The expected cost on each build looks like this:
| RTP build | House edge | Expected cost on £1,000 staked |
|---|---|---|
| 96.34% | 3.66% | £36.60 |
| 94.23% | 5.77% | £57.70 |
| 92.17% | 7.83% | £78.30 |
| 88.36% | 11.64% | £116.40 |
These are long-run averages, and any one session can land far either side of them. What the table does show is that the bottom build roughly triples the expected cost of the top one for the same reels, the same art and the same 10,000× cap. Rerun the numbers for a different bet size in the RTP cost calculator.
Bonus buys, FeatureSpins and the UK rules
Hacksaw builds two paid shortcuts into Le Bandit. The Buy Bonus menu takes you straight into Luck of the Bandit or All That Glitters Is Gold. BonusHunt FeatureSpins cost three times your stake per spin and, according to the studio, make a bonus five times as likely to trigger.
UK-licensed casinos are not permitted to sell bonus buys, and they limit a slot spin to £5 once you are 25, or £2 between the ages of 18 and 24. Offshore operators answer to a different regulator, so a casino outside GamStop can switch the menu on and accept larger bets.
Neither shortcut improves the return. A buy packs the cost of many ordinary spins into one payment, and on a lower build you pay more for exactly the same round. Fix the total you are prepared to spend on buys before the session begins, and read the bonus buy guide for how they are priced.

Le Bandit against Hacksaw's other heavy hitters
Hacksaw's own 1 to 5 scale makes comparison straightforward. Of the three studio titles covered on ReelTeller, Le Bandit is the steady option:
| Slot | Volatility | Max win | Top RTP build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Le Bandit | 3 of 5 | 10,000× | 96.34% |
| Wanted Dead or a Wild | 4 of 5 | 12,500× | 96.38% |
| Chaos Crew | 5 of 5 | 10,000× | 96.30% |
Free demos are available from Hacksaw and from many casinos that carry its games, Maxxed among them. A few hundred play-money spins show how often the Rainbow turns up before any real balance is involved. Our demo guide lists what to watch for.
What A Lower RTP On Le Bandit Costs You
Le Bandit is advertised at 96.34%. Casinos can load a lower configuration of the same game. Set the stake and session length to match how you play and the difference comes out in pounds.
Worked example. Le Bandit at £1 a spin, 500 spins an hour for 10 hours is 5,000 spins and £5,000 staked.
| RTP version | Expected loss |
|---|---|
| 96.34% | −£183 |
| 94.23% | −£288 |
The lower version costs £106 more over the same play.
What A Session On Le Bandit Looks Like
Cascades and cluster pays give Le Bandit frequent small returns, so a typical session drifts down gradually rather than collapsing, and the outsized results come from free spins rounds where a Rainbow cashes in a board crowded with Golden Squares.
Worked example. £200 played at £1 a spin for 1,000 spins is £1,000 of turnover, more than the bankroll, because winnings are staked again.
| Starting bankroll | £200 |
| Turnover if the money lasts | £1,000 |
| Expected cost of that turnover | −£37 |
